[In this weekly column, Gamasutra rounds up the most popular paid and free gaming applications on the Android Market as of today, with Grand Theft Auto III, Cut the Rope and Fruit Ninja currently ranking among the platform's top downloads.] This week's top paid titles are: 1. Grand Theft Auto III ($2.99) 2. Cut the Rope ($0.99) 3. Fruit Ninja ($1.26) 4. Where's My Water? ($0.99) 5. Doodle Jump ($0.99) 6. Plants vs. Zombies ($1.99) 7. The Sims 3 ($2.99) 8. Madden NFL 12 ($2.99) 9. Monopoly ($4.99) 10. Flick Golf! ($0.99) Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto III heads up the Android Market's paid app rankings, outselling longtime chart leaders Cut the Rope and Fruit Ninja during the holiday week. Disney's Where's My Water? and Lima Sky's Doodle Jump remain strong sellers at fourth and fifth place, while a selection of price-dropped EA titles occupy several spots in the latter half of the top ten. Here are this week's top free Android game applications: 1. Angry Birds 2. Words With Friends Free 3. Angry Birds Seasons 4. UNO Free 5. Fruit Ninja Free 6. Angry Birds Rio 7. Plumber 8. Word Search 9. Drag Racing 10. Air Penguin Rovio's Angry Birds and Newtoy's Words With Friends rank as the most popular free Android games during this year's Christmas rush, as Angry Birds Seasons and UNO Free follow at third and fourth place. Monsters Game's recently updated pipe puzzler Plumber also manages to earn a spot in this week's rankings, as Gamevil's Air Penguin and Creative Mobile's Drag Racing close out today's results at ninth and tenth place.
