[In this weekly column, Gamasutra rounds up the most popular paid and free gaming applications on the Android Market as of today, with Minecraft: Pocket Edition, Cut the Rope, X Construction and Fruit Ninja currently ranking among the platform's top downloads.] This week's top paid titles are: 1. Cut the Rope ($0.99) 2. X Construction ($1.49) 3. Minecraft: Pocket Edition ($6.99) 4. Madden NFL 12 ($6.99) 5. Fruit Ninja ($1.26) 6. RoboDefense ($2.99) 7. Doodle Jump ($0.99) 8. The Moron Test ($0.99) 9. Dragon Fly! Full ($0.99) 10. Flick Golf ($0.99) Zeptolab's Cut the Rope and CrossConstruct's physics puzzler X Construction currently rank as the Android's fastest-selling games, while Mojang's Minecraft: Pocket Edition takes third place in its first week of release, reporting between 10,000 and 50,000 installs. Dragon Fly sees a drop in popularity after taking third place last week, meanwhile, as Full Fat Productions' Flick Golf returns to the charts after an extended absence at tenth. Here are this week's top free Android game applications: 1. Angry Birds 2. Hanging With Friends 3. Angry Birds Rio 4. Words With Friends Free 5. Angry Birds Seasons 6. Bunny Shooter 7. Drag Racing 8. Fruit Ninja Free 9. Tetris Free 10. Lane Splitter Angry Birds, Hanging With Friends, and Angry Birds Rio remain the Android's most popular free apps for the third week in a row, as Words With Friends Free and Angry Birds Seasons trail at fourth and fifth. Bunny Shooter also remains a popular pick, as Drag Racing and a trial version of Fruit Ninja follow at seventh and eighth.
