Every week, Gamasutra rounds up the top-grossing iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad applications, as current that day in the iTunes App Store. This week's U.S. revenue charts see Poker by Zynga and Zombieville USA 2 earning top iPhone sales, while Modern Combat 3 and Smurfs' Village emerge as big sellers on the iPad. These charts allow end users to see who is making the most money on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the Top 10 Games chart, which is ranked by sales, and therefore is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing iPhone titles are: 1. Poker by Zynga (Free) 2. Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation ($6.99) 3. Texas Poker (Free) 4. Zombieville USA 2 ($0.99) 5. Angry Birds ($0.99) 6. DragonVale (Free) 7. Tap Pet Hotel (Free) 8. Crime City (Free) 9. High Noon (Free) 10. Bejeweled 2 + Blitz ($0.99) Gameloft's multiplayer FPS Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation reports brisk sales in its debut week, putting it in close competition with reigning chart champ Poker by Zynga. Mika Mobile's Zombieville USA 2 also emerges as a popular pick in its first week of release, while the free-to-play favorites DragonVale, Tap Pet Hotel, Crime City, and High Noon rake in top revenue via microtransaction sales. Here are this week’s top-grossing iPad applications: 1. Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation ($6.99) 2. Smurfs' Village (Free) 3. My Country (Free) 4. Tap Pet Hotel (Free) 5. DragonVale (Free) 6. Angry Birds HD ($4.99) 7. Paradise Island HD (Free) 8. Poker by Zynga (Free) 9. Angry Birds Seasons ($1.99) 10. Card Ace: Casino HD (Free) Modern Combat 3 also fares well on the iPad, where it overtakes Capcom's Smurfs' Village and Game Insight's My Country to become the platform's top earner for the week. Pocket Gems' Tap Pet Hotel climbs to fourth place following a Halloween-themed update, while Backflip Studios' DragonVale outperforms Rovio's Angry Birds HD at fifth place.
