Top-Grossing iOS Games: Smurfs' Village, Zynga Poker Head App Store Earnings

Every week, Gamasutra rounds up the top-grossing iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad applications, as current that day in the iTunes App Store. This week's U.S. revenue charts see Where's My Water? and Zynga Poker earning top iPhone sales, while Smurfs' Village and DragonVale remain big sellers on the iPad. These charts allow end users to see who is making the most money on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the Top 10 Games chart, which is ranked by sales, and therefore is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing iPhone titles are: 1. High Noon (Free) Zynga Poker reclaims top honors in the iPhone's revenue charts, overtaking Backflip Studios' recent hit DragonVale and Disney's physics puzzler Where's My Water?. Dmitry's 777 Poker and A Thinking Ape's Kingdoms at War both move up several spots in today's rankings, as Happylatte's High Noon returns to the charts at tenth place. Tiny Zoo Friends (Free) Despite declining microtransaction sales for the iPhone edition, the iPad version of Capcom's Smurfs' Village remains very popular, and beats DragonVale and Tap Pet Hotel to become this week's highest-grossing app. Big Fish's in-app purchase-supported puzzler Stray Souls: Dollhouse Story follows at fourth place, while Midfinger's recently released third person shooter Shadowgun makes its chart debut at ninth.
