Redwood City-based Rift developer and operator Trion Worlds has announced new hirings as part of its move to expand overseas. The company has hired Jonathan Goddard (pictured), formerly global PR manager at City Interactive and senior manager of international PR at Electronic Arts, as its new head of European PR. Jeff Pabst, previously head of international product management for Xbox, has now taken up a position as European commerce director for Trion. To round off the hirings, EA's former European marketing director Simon Bull is now senior brand director on Trion's End of Nations. Trion's European SVP John Burns said to UK-based MCV, "As Trion endeavors to drive its European business forward, it's vital we attract the industry's best talent." Building on Rift's successful launch and ensuring our other projects generate the buzz they richly deserve are our key priorities, and I'm delighted we are forging the right team to help us achieve these goals." Trion revealed last month that it has raised over $100M in venture capital, and may soon file for an initial public offering.
