Off the back of yesterday's reveal of Tom Clancy's The Division at E3, Ubisoft Massive today confirmed that it has hired the entire team at Southend Interactive. Southend, best known for downloadable titles like ilomilo and Sacred Citadel, is based in Malmo, Sweden -- the same area as Ubisoft Massive. Swedish daily newspaper Sydsvenskan reported this morning that Massive has recruited all 24 staffers from Southend, and Southend's Bjorn Persson later confirmed via Twitter that this was indeed the case. Massive's Martin Hultberg noted, "We were able to buy their technology which is hugely helpful. And that means that the skills of Southend move over to us." There is currently no word regarding the fate of the Southend studio itself -- Gamasutra has contacted former members of the Southend team to clarify.
