Ubisoft today released a web browser demo of Assassin's Creed, put together using Babylon.js, an open-source 3D engine for building games with HTML5 and WebGL. The Assassin's Creed Pirates demo is being used by Microsoft to show that the Babylon.JS project has legs. The framework was built by a team of four at Microsoft, with David Catuhe at the lead. This is the first web game developed using the Babylon.JS open source framework, announced back in June last year. Microsoft notes that while most web games require a fixed screen resolution, this new solution allows Assassin's Creed Pirates to be played on any resolution or device. You can try out the demo at the official website.
