As the franchise moves on to its second installment, its publisher has decided to pick up the developer and make it part of the Ubisoft family.
Newsbrief: Today, Ubisoft announced that it has acquired The Crew franchise developer Ivory Tower. No financial details of the acquisition were disclosed. The studio is currently working on The Crew Wild Run, an expansion pack for the original 2014 game, which is due out November 17. The Crew was Ivory Tower's first released title.
The Lyon, France-based team currently has 100 members, according to the official Ubisoft blog post detailing the acquisition. Ivory Tower was formed in 2007 by racing game developers who worked on franchises including Need for Speed, V-Rally, and Test Drive Unlimited.
