Unity Technologies, the development team behind the Unity platform for PC, iOS, Android and consoles, has opened a new office in Stockholm, Sweden. The new development team will be run by Erik Hemming, previously of DICE and Avalanche Studios where he worked on the likes of Battlefield Bad Company and Just Cause 2, and Erland Korner, also previously at DICE and an artist on Battlefield 3 and Mirror's Edge. The Stockholm office will act as a new development hub for Unity, where the team will look to expand the quality of Unity-authored games. Steffen Toksvig, VP of engineering at Unity, explained, "We are pleased to continue Unity Technologies' growth with the opening of the Stockholm office in what is one of the centers of game development talent." "We are building a small office of a handful of really experienced people that can complement the awesomeness of Erik and Erland. I see this as a logical continuation of our effort to push the quality of Unity, by giving the work of the world's best game developers to the Unity community." Earlier this month, the UK Unity branch revealed that it is to receive an expansion, moving to new offices in Brighton where the company will house customer support services and other functions. Aside from support for Unity customers, the UK office will also offer QA, development and training and consulting services.
