Newsbrief: When the Xbox One was first revealed, Microsoft was keen to stress the live TV functionality and "all-in-one entertainment system" potential of the console. It would appear that Sony isn't planning on being left behind, as the company this week revealed a tentative deal with Viacom. Sony is in the process of building its own Internet TV service, and this deal between Sony and Viacom to allow popular cable channels like Nickelodeon and MTV on Sony devices is the first of its kind between a major TV programmer and a large technology company, reports the Wall Street Journal. Although Sony has not yet revealed its intentions for television on the upcoming PlayStation 4, it's certainly possible that the company's TV service could be made available via the console in the future -- and the WSJ reports that a person familiar with the situation says the TV service will indeed launch on PS4 early next year.
