"We make a ton of mistakes. Let me count the ways."
- Ouya CEO Julie Uhrman discusses the problems that the microconsole has faced since it launched in the summer, and how building a business out in the open leads to additional scrutiny. In an emotional talk at the XOXO Festival, Uhrman explored everything that has gone wrong with the Ouya to date, from not sending Kickstarter units out on time to problems with the controller, to marketing issues such as the vomiting video, the "Fund the Games" campaign, and the now infamous "Get Some" tweet. "We've done a lot of things wrong, and made a lot of mistakes," she admitted. "But I think one thing that's unique about us is that we're gonna continue to make them." "We're young, we're scrappy, we're moving fast," she continued. "We're building this product out in the open with you. We got our start with you, we get better every day because we listen to you, and some things are going to resonate, and some things aren't." "We learned along the way that there is not much you can plan for," Uhrman added later. "What you have to be good at is reacting quickly, but thinking first - and that is something that we are still learning unfortunately."
