Super Rewards founder Jason Bailey, along with Pot Farm developers Josh Nilson and Galan Akin, have secured $1.5 million in angel funding to found a new Vancouver social games studio called East Side Games. As reported by Inside Social Games, the company plans to release a new game on Facebook before the end of the year. The company has also inherited the rights to Pot Farm, a tongue-in-cheek marijuana growing sim that claims over 900,000 monthly active users. "If you have a good game with a 1 million MAU count, you can support a small studio," Bailey said in the report. "The gold rush is over, but there is still plenty of gold in the hills if you can sit down, shut up, and build compelling games the fit the social/mobile formulas. We want to build ten games with 1 million-plus MAU over the next couple of years." The first title due is Zombinis, described as "a collectable battle game featuring cuddly and somewhat explosive zombies with detachable body parts and addicting gameplay." A Facebook version is expected in Q3, with the possibility of a Google+ version should that platform be open to third parties.
