Mobile monetization and user acquisition firm W3i launched a $10 million AppX Game Developer Marketing Fund designed to "accelerate user growth for up-and-coming mobile social game developers". W3i says it will help iOS and Android game developers who qualify for the fund with user acquisition financing, production support, and analytics meant to "optimize their game business and profitable user acquisition". The company says it will help studios compete with AAA companies by ofering them its AppX suite of services for free and with no long-term revenue share. W3i will not require developers to give up their IP rights by participating in the program. Riptide Games has already signed up and qualified for the fund, and received assistance from W3i in marketing its iOS title My Pet Zombie. The studio said W3i helped make the game profitable quickly, and increase the lifetime value of its users by three times. "Our road map continues to focus on improving monetization and user acquisition tools to optimize ROI using a decade of experience doing the same for our desktop app partners," says W3i CEO Andy Johnson. "The rollout continues with AppX."
