Last year, the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, revealed a partnership with Nintendo, which saw 3DS handhelds used as interactive guides for the museum. This app has now been released to the public in the 3DS eShop. The guide provides more than 600 artwork images, 400 photos form the museum, 360 degree panoramic views, and 30 hours of audio commentary. It's currently available to download from the eShop for $19.99, while a special edition boxed version is available exclusively from the Louvre itself. Of course, the most exciting part of this announcement is being able to watch Nintendo's Satoru Iwata and Shigeru Miyamoto exploring the Louvre in the above video. The charm continues into the 'Iwata Asks' interview available on the Nintendo website. The Louvre was the first museum in the world to implement the Nintendo 3DS as a tour guide, and it will be exciting to see if other landmarks around the world follow suit, or if Nintendo has any other similar endeavours in the works.
