Westwood College Sponsors Industry-Focused SIEGE Fair in Georgia

The Georgia Game Developers Association announced that Westwood College is sponsoring a college fair and a series of professional tutorials at the upcoming Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo (SIEGE) in October. Now in its fourth year, SIEGE hosts a collection of speeches and educational discussions designed to help students pursue a career in the field of game development. Atari founder and Pong creator Nolan Bushnell will deliver a keynote address at SIEGE 2010. A number of representatives from Westwood College, Georgia Tech, Southern Methodist University’s Guildhall, and other universities will also be present at the event. "Continued growth of the computer and video game industry requires new centers of excellence to emerge with talented labor pools," said Clinton Lowe, president of the Georgia Game Developers Association. "More than 15 Georgia colleges currently offer video game-related academic programs. With tax incentives of up to 30% of game project budgets, Georgia is quickly becoming a new center for technology and games." SIEGE 2010 will be held from October 1st through 3rd at the Crowne Plaza NW Atlanta hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. Registration is available at the event's official website.
