Where do I start? What do I study?

So, what do I have to do to get started?

Years and years ago, I had the dream of making video games. As the years dragged on, however, I found out that I have absolutely no idea of where to get started.

There are a plethora of technical institutes offering game desgin courses, but something tells me that this is not the place to go.

So, how do I get started? What sort of classes should I take at college and what degrees are sought after in the gaming industry?

As of yet, I have no experience with programming and very little in art or graphic design.

I'm tired of sitting around on my thumbs, with dreams of making the next big role playing game. I want to get started towards it now, but what do I do?

Please give me some advice. I don't even know where to begin or what sort of experience the gaming industry is looking for.

Any advice is much appreciated,

Kyle.
