Xbox One nearing 10 million units shipped

Well, we now have concrete proof that Microsoft's lagging behind Sony -- but according to VP Yusuf Mehdi, the console's recent price drop has provided a big boost to sales in the short term.

Newsbrief: In August, Sony hit the 10 million sold mark with PlayStation 4, and the company had shipped 13.5 million consoles to retailers by last month. Microsoft isn't quite there yet. Today, the company revealed that the Xbox One will "shortly" have shipped 10 million units to retail, though it hasn't hit that mark just yet. The company dropped the price of the console early this month; now VP Yusuf Mehdi says sales tripled in the week following the new pricing.
