Android mobile game developers can now explore a new potential source of income, as Amazon today launched its Amazon Associates Program API -- a method for offering relevant products through your mobile app. Utilizing the API for Android releases, developers can choose to sell items (physical or digital) relevant to their game directly through the app, and earn up to 6 percent on all purchases. For example, Animoca's Thor: Lord of Storms game for Android now offers Thor physical action figures to buy. Meanwhile Days of Wonder's mobile version of Ticket to Ride now offers the physical board game version to buy directly through the game. Amazon is keen to stress that developers needn't do more than simply offer the products for purchase -- Amazon stocks the products and handles the delivery of the products itself. More information can be found on the Amazon blog.
