Social gaming giant Zynga has hired a new executive director for its philanthropic branch Zynga.org, furthering its commitment to supporting charities worldwide.

Newsbrief: Social gaming giant Zynga has hired non-profit veteran Ken Weber as the executive director of its philanthropic branch, Zynga.org. Weber previously served as the COO for the non-profit groups The ONE Campaign and Network for Good, where he helped raise funds to fight disease, poverty, and more. Zynga says he will use his expertise from these companies to expand Zynga.org's charitable efforts worldwide. For the last few years, Zynga.org has raised money through virtual items sales to help build schools in Haiti, offer earthquake relief to Japan, and more.
