Newsbrief: Dynasty Warriors and Nioh developer-publisher Koei Tech has partnered with artificial intelligence specialist Heroz, and will use the company's tech in its upcoming games.

An official press release (translated by DualShockers) reveals the studio's ultimate aim is to combine its own production capabilities and intellectual properties with Heroz’s "artificial intelligence tech and know-how."

The artificial intelligence tech incorporates machine learning and deep learning through the use of smartphone games including Shogi WarsChess Heroz, and BackgammonAce

The competitive AI has already defeated professional Shogi (Japanese chess) players in public matches, and although it has primarily been used in the development of smartphone titles, Heroz is keen to apply the tech in other fields going forward.
