Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Young Horses' Kevin Geisler shares tongue-in-cheek "tips" for game developers about things you probably shouldn't do -- but that totally worked out during development of Octodad: Dadliest Catch.
Kevin Geisler serves as a producer and programmer for the Chicago-based indie studio Young Horses Inc., and today he tweeted a series of brief, tongue-in-cheek "tips" for game developers that were culled from his own experiences making Octodad: Dadliest Catch.
His advice was catalogued by fellow Octodad developer Kevin Zuhn, who used Storify to compile Geisler's tweets into an informal rundown of lessons learned during development on Dadliest Catch in advance of publishing a full postmortem in the future.
It's a great bit of reading for game developers that serves as an intriguing counterpoint to the Octodad: Dadliest Catch postmortem talk that Young Horses cofounders Phil Tibitoski and John Murphy gave in earnest at GDC Next 2014.
With Zuhn's permission we've taken the liberty of embedding the Storify below for your reading pleasure.
