Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Pretty bland title I know for what I want to know but check it out.
First off a little about myself. I recently graduated college with a degree in video game design. Back when I started my journey (2004) gaining a degree in game design seems so far fetched and hardly anyone was doing it. Now that I'm finished I feel confident in my various talents or skills to start a career working in the industry I've grown to respect and love so much.
I guess my real reason or open question to all is how long did it take you to make it in the industry? I've been applying to gaming companies small and large worldwide on a daily basis, meanwhile building a stronger portfolio. I've received a couple of emails stating that their isn't any available opening currently but to try again at a later date. I actually like receiving those emails it least lets me know that some companies looked at my resume.
So in conclusion for anyone that reads this blog that works in the industry or has a friend or even trying to get their foot in the door, I wouldn't mind hearing your story if you don't mind writing about it. I don't mind if it's brief or pages long, I would like to know what did you do that no one else did to get your foot in the door.
thanks for reading hope to hear some responses soon. Actually I don't know if blogging has a reply section since this is my first blog, here's an email you can reach me at.
