[Every week GameSetWatch editor-in-chief Eric Caoili rounds up the latest news/media for obscure and offbeat games from Gamasutra's sister site and alternative video game blog.] Over at our alt video game blog GameSetWatch, we shared a number of fun stories during the past week, including Ghana's Devil May Cry film, custom articulated Skylanders figures, and Skyrim without textures. GameSetWatch's highlights from the last week: Ghanaian Devil May Cry Film Takes Capcom's Series In A Bold New Direction - No matter how the next Devil May Cry turns out, it's probably not going to be as awe-inspiring as what you see here. This trailer for the Ghanaian film "Obonsam Besu" shows off several potential gameplay mechanics that will not be featured in any video game ever. Which...is kind of a shame, actually. Yes! Jin Saotome Making Articulated, Poseable Skylanders - Jin Saotome is already familiar around these parts for producing wicked video game action figures out of G.I. Joe and McFarlane Toys parts, but now he is changing the world by customizing the latest toy craze: Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure figures. Skyrim Without Textures Looks...Pretty Cool, Actually - Some call it "Team Fortress 2 mode." Others describe it as looking like a sequel to RuneScape. Tweak the video options in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim enough, and you end up with the textureless marvel you see here. When Custom Character Creation Goes Wrong - This is what happens when you let players become gods and shape virtual people without any consequences to their cruelty. You get the most ridiculous, hideous looking heroes -- what must the game's NPCs be thinking when they see your character? CCP Honors EVE Online Rioters With Destroyed Monument - Honoring EVE Online rebels, CCP replaced an in-game landmark with a plaque that reads, "After standing proud for half a decade, [this statue] was destroyed in late YC113 by capsuleers who were staging a mass uprising against an intolerable status quo of intergalactic affairs." Lea Thompson Stars In Game Design-Themed Walmart Family Movie "Game Of Your Life" - The next made-for-TV triumph in NBC's Walmart-funded "Family Movie Night" series is Game of Your Life, a film that tackles the dramatic family issues faced by students majoring in the field of game design.
