The great thing about Star Wars games is that they act as a strange mirror of video game history. From the arcade machines to NES platformers, from the FMV acting of the Dark Forces series to the CRPG-inspired stylings of Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars games have followed the industry's trends and done their best to weave what makes the films so successful into game design and craft.

Today at 4:30 EST on the Gamasutra channel, we're going to take the temperature of this current moment in Star Wars/video game history by chatting with EA Motive Studios writer Mitch Dyer, who helped write the campaign for Star Wars Battlefront 2. We're going to talk about everything from writing villainous characters as heroes to what it's like collaborating with Lucasfilm story group.

If you've ever dreamed of telling stories in that galaxy far far away, you should definitely swing by and ask questions in Twitch chat!
