What’s the state of MMORPG production in 2016? Despite the market shift to more eSports-focused titles, a few big titles have managed to stay up and vibrant, including Bethesda’s online 2014 game The Elder Scrolls Online.

This month, Zenimax Online Studios is launching a new update for ESO called One Tamriel, an intriguing development that introduces level scaling to the world of Tamriel. Now, players of any level will be able to quest together meaningfully in different zones, without the threat of over-powered or underpowered creatures deterring them from grouping up.

Today at 3PM EST, We're going to ask creative director Rich Lambert about that design choice, and what it means for the state of MMORPGs in 2016.

It’s a feature that’s been long-present in games like Guild Wars 2, but its introduction is an interesting addition to Bethesda's premier MMORPG, since it elimminates some of the previous artificial barriers that defined the experience.

Be sure to join the conversation at 3PM over on our Twitch page, and subscribe to our channel for regular developer interviews and commentary.
