Crytek has announced a new licensing deal with digital image service provider Crystal CG, that will see Crystal CG using the CryEngine 3 for its future projects. The company is looking to implement Crytek's CryEngine to enhance its production values, and create its content in what it says will be "a significantly shorter timeframe." Crystal CG has previously worked on the visuals for the Beijing 2008 Olympics opening ceremony, and the London 2012 Olympics mascot promotional film. It did not specify which upcoming projects will be making use of the CryEngine 3. Chai Kefu, department manager at Crystal CG, explained, "Choosing CryEngine 3 for our upcoming projects was a natural step for us to ensure we stay ahead of our competition. Crytek's visualization solution suits our needs for flexibility and efficiency." CryEngine's director of blobal business development Carl Jones added, "When we saw the first results from Crystal CG's work with CryEngine 3, we were blown away... We are really looking forward to seeing more from Crystal CG."
