GameCareerGuide.com’s Game Design Challenge is a weekly exercise in for aspiring game developers. This week’s challenge, which was created with programmers in mind, comes from special guest Mick West, co-founder of Neversoft Entertainment: Design a simple game that might make a player believe she or he has psychic powers. The game must rely on unskewed random numbers and not "cheat." You can focus either on the patterns that naturally arise in random numbers, or on positive reinforcement and misdirection to try to skew the player's perception. Anyone, including professional game developers, can participate by discussing the challenge on GameCareerGuide.com’s forum (registration is free), or by submitting their original ideas -- see the original post for the complete details of the assignment and information on how to submit. The three strongest solutions will be featured in an upcoming article on GameCareerGuide.com.
