Sucker Punch is looking for a passionate, experienced and creative Lead Writer to help create engaging and compelling narrative content for our next project.
The Lead Writer is responsible for developing and overseeing all narrative development including golden path, cinematic and mission dialogue and most of the fiction related to the game.
The ideal candidate will have previous success as a game writer, outstanding communication skills, a good understanding of story and game structure, experience in a writers' room setting, the ability to work within established narrative and game play goals, and an absolute passion to tell great stories in various cinematic mediums.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead in developing and/or contributing to, as a hands on writer, all aspects of fictional written content, including golden path, cinematic scripts, mission dialogue and other project related fiction
Work with and manage a team of writers to craft the project narrative and story content
Collaborate with the creative leadership to set high level story goals and ensure cohesion of the narrative across all story mediums including cinematics, mission dialogue and side content
Collaborate with the creative leads to identify and develop opportunities for new storytelling methods to drive the immersive player experiences
Develop, implement and manage the narrative and story development and authoring process
Ensure that the writing team deliverables are completed in accordance within the production schedule and consistent with the design and game play goals
Qualifications
At least four years of game industry experience as a Lead Writer or Senior Writer with a good understanding of story and game structure
Excellent story writing and experience creating compelling stories
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven leadership skills
Must be good with dialogue, action and character development
Must have a strong narrative voice, be able to collaborate with multiple creative leads to achieve game play goals
Good understanding of game production, design tool limitations and systems
