Location: Marina Del Rey, CA

The Workshop is currently looking for talented, enthusiastic, and highly motivated designers who will construct engaging 3D content using CryEngine and Unreal from conception to polish while collaborating with leads to realize their vision.
 
Every member of our team is involved in all aspects of our project’s creation. We believe that a small, focused, dedicated team of exceptional people can create exceptional games.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and populate fun and engaging game levels

  • Brainstorm and document encounters and level plans

  • Build and populate environments

  • Collaborate with other team disciplines

  • Prototype, build and iterate on final game content in-engine

  • Exercise initiative and excellent judgment

  • Demonstrate commitment to creative collaboration in a time-sensitive environment

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of level or mission designer experience

  • Extensive experience with Unreal or equivalent toolset

  • Versed with Kismet or other visual scripting systems

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Previous shipped games and self-created prototypes

  • Experience in rapid prototyping or participation in game jams

  • Experience with live games

  • Experience with single player and multiplayer balancing (as a designer, or on a balance team)

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Lua or Javascript

  • Experience including metrics and heatmaps in the design and feedback process

  • Experience with 3DS Max or equivalent

  • Knowledge of basic source control software and practices (Perforce, etc.)

  • Experience working with task tracking and bug databases (JIRA, etc.)
