Bolstered by a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Leadwerks Engine 3 continues its expansion by adding support for Linux, Ouya, Blender, and 64-bit builds.
Closing a few hours ago, the Leadwerks Engine 3 Kickstarter campaign finished with a flurry of last minute support pushing the campaign over the 200% funding mark.
With the success of the campaign, Leadwerks will soon allow for native game development on the Linux platform. This will not only allow for linux developers to build games in their chosen environment but should help expand the Linux library of games.
The surge of funding also unlocked serveral of the Leadwerks 3 stretch goals including: Ouya support, Blender integration, and 64-bit builds for all development platforms.
The Kickstarter campaign ran in parrall to a successful Steam Greenlight push. This means that the Leadwerks Engine 3 will be able to hook into the Steam Workshop to deliver steam assets and the engine itself will soon be available to Steam users everywhere.
In a blog post post earlier today, Leadwerks CEO Josh Klint offers a thank you to everyone for their outstanding support.
