Havok wants you develop games using its free, mobile-focused engine and toolset Project Anarchy, and is ready to put up the money to get game developers on board. The tech house is hosting the Project Anarchy Mobile Game Dev Challenge, a contest open to all developers using the freely-downloadable Project Anarchy kit, with the best mobile game receiving a grand prize award of $100,000 from a total cash prize pool of $150,000. Details on the contest are up on the Project Anarchy page: www.projectanarchy.com/contest. As part of the contest, developers have the option to turn in their project ideas early, for a chance to get feedback directly from the Havok support team, the same guys who helped bring Havok technologies (Physics, Animation Studio, Cloth, Destruction, Script, AI) to huge series like Skyrim, Halo and Uncharted. The Project Anarchy Mobile Game Dev Challenge is scheduled to run from October 17, 2013 to May 31, 2014. The contest will offer a two-phase submission process. Entrants who submit their games for the optional early review by February 1, 2014 will receive free developer feedback from the team at Havok, and will be considered for select marketing/PR support. Up to ten Early Submission Finalists will have an opportunity to showcase their game at Havok's booth at GDC in March, and one of those finalists will have a chance to win $10,000 cash (and still be eligible for the grand prize). The final submission deadline for all entries is May 31, 2014. Contest finalists will be announced on June 16, 2014, with the final winners being announced on June 24, 2014. Prizes will be awarded by a judging panel made up of industry veterans from a variety of disciplines including art, design, programming and business. Each entry will be judged on entertainment value, visual design and originality. Project Anarchy includes features like an extensible C++ architecture, a flexible asset management system, advanced Lua debugging, rapid prototyping capabilities, full integration with fmod and Autodesk Scaleform, as well as customizable game samples and tutorials to enable developers to quickly iterate on their ideas and create incredible gaming experiences.
