Newsbrief: Game engine maker Unity said this morning it would be making the full Unity Pro suite free to all licensed PlayStation developers. Unity Pro typically costs $1500 or $75 a month. Unity CEO David Helgason said in a blog post that game developers just need to contact their PlayStation representative to be approved as a PlayStation developer and get Unity Pro for PlayStation development. Unity and Sony have already had a close relationship. The engine supports PlayStation 3, PS4, and PS Mobile. Unity Pro is also free to all licensed ID@Xbox developers who have development kits.
