Newsbrief: Veteran game designer Steve Meretzky will be joining mobile juggernaut King as VP of design. 

Meretzky, famous for his work on text adventures such as The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the Spellcasting trilogy, was let go by social games outfit, GSM Games, earlier this year. 

He announced his latest career move earlier today in a public Facebook post, and explained he'll be joining the Candy Crush Saga creator to work on a "super-secret new project."

"I can report a small piece of glad tidings among the gloom: I have just accepted a role as VP of design for King Entertainment," reads the post. 

"I will be working out of the San Francisco office, and will be running a super-secret new project."
