"A lot of people here want to learn about banning players! That's pretty cool."

With those words Psyonix's Devin Connors opened his GDC 2018 Community Management Summit talk on the design and implementation of the language ban system in the studio's hit car soccer game Rocket League.

It was a fascinating look at what's involved with trying to keep bad actors out of your game, as Connors walked through the reasons why the system was necessary, how it was built, and what the team at Psyonix learned about smoothly implementing these kinds of quality controls.

If you missed it at GDC this year, make time to take advantage of the fact that you can now watch Connors' talk completely free via the official GDC YouTube channel!
