As VR game development continues to come into its own, developers around the world are finding innovative ways to allow players to transcend the physical limitations of being unable to move beyond the bounds of their real-life environment.
Epic Games' Bullet Train VR experience is one of the early examples of how a VR developer can use teleportation mechanics to afford players more mobility, and at the 2016 VRDC Epic Games' Nick Donaldson and Nick Whiting explained exactly how it was made.
It was a great talk because they dug deep into VR mobility, as well as the design considerations that come with adding interaction to traditionally passive experiences and where they had to diverge from their original design choices to satisfy players' expectations of the virtual world they interact with.
