Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Oculus has posted a wide swath of presentations from its September developer event on YouTube -- offering a variety of lessons for VR developers in the process.
In September, Oculus held its second yearly Oculus Connect event -- bringing together an audience of 1,500 developers in Los Angeles to watch talks delivered by its executives, in-house content creators, and third-party VR developers who had lessons and insights to share about developing for the Oculus Rift.
The company has posted a large number of the talks to its official YouTube channel. It's still dribbling them out, but there's plenty to see -- including the above talk, delivered by two developers from one of the company's internal studios, about the lessons learned making demos for the Oculus Rift.
In the video, art director Kenneth Scott and lead software engineer Per Vognsen share their experiences creating a wide variety of different types of content -- and even talk about demos that didn't end up getting finished because they just didn't work out.
While the channel is still missing Jesse Schell's excellent talk on I Expect You to Die -- read our write-up from the event here, if you want to know his six lessons for developing VR games -- there's plenty to keep you busy at Oculus' official YouTube channel.
