From Software's PlayStation 3 mech game Another Century's Episode: R bumped down Nintendo's strong-performing Wii Party from the top spot on Japan's weekly sales charts, Media Create revealed. For the week ended August 26, the new release Another Century's Episode: R, published by Namco Bandai, sold 220,000 units, easily topping the charts. Wii Party sold 69,000 units to reach the number two slot, down from the previous week's 124,000. Since its launch on July 8 in Japan, Wii Party has sold over 805,000 units, and is slated to hit U.S. stores this holiday. Aside from Another Century's Episode: R, the only other new game to make the Japanese top 10 was Compile Heart's quirky PS3 game Super Dimensional Game Neptune, an RPG that's a parody of video game industry and culture. On the whole, sales were slow in Japan, as spots four through 10 failed to break 20,000 units sold. Games including Level 5's DS game Inazuma Eleven 3: World Challenge!! continued to hang out in the Media Create top 10, along with Capcom's Sengoku Basara 3 for PS3 and Namco Bandai's PSP game Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X among others. Below are Media Create's rankings for the week ended August 26, 2010:
