Treyarch/Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops, Ubisoft's Just Dance 2 and Retro/Nintendo's Donkey Kong Country Returns were Amazon's top-selling video game products during the competitive holiday sales period, the popular online retailer has revealed. The three titles were the most-ordered games during the holiday season, which Amazon measured from November 14 through December 19. The 8GB version of the game-playing iPod Touch also clocked in as the third highest-selling electronic device on Amazon for the period, just behind two versions of Amazon's Kindle eBook reader. Black Ops was the top-seller in NPD's tracking report for American game sales in November, clearing a record-breaking 8.4 million units during the period. Just Dance 2 finished in third place on that monthly list, while Donkey Kong Country Returns premiered in sixth. Gamasutra's Saling the World feature, which tracks publicly available Amazon sales data, also show the Xbox 360 Kinect and the Wii's Epic Mickey selling strongly during the holiday season. For 2010 as a whole (measured through December 15), Activision's Black Ops was the retailer's top-selling game, as well as the game most often included on Amazon Wish Lists in 2010. Just Dance 2 was the game most often purchased as an Amazon gift, however. In September, Amazon lowered the price of its release-day pre-order delivery program from $5.99 to 99 cents per game, likely helping further stoke holiday sales.
