[Every other week, Gamasutra examines the fastest growing Facebook games (according to monthly active users), looking at which titles and developers are having the most success attracting new players on the social network.] Disney/Playdom's civilization-building sim City of Wonders has picked up 2.1 million monthly active users in the past week, expanding its total audience by 50 percent to six million and taking the top ranking for our latest chart. City of Wonder launched just two months ago, alongside a wave of similar Civ-style sims from rival developers. Playdom's title has players growing and advancing their village through various stages of history, taking it from the Stone Age to the Modern age. Ludia Inc., which previously released American Idol Star Experience, took the #2 spot with another licensed title, The Price Is Right Game. The game show app more than doubled its userbase in the past week, adding 567,873 new contestants for a total of over one million users. Digital Chocolate grabbed the #3 and #4 rankings as city-building sim Millionaire City gained 480,605 new citizens (up eight percent) for 6.7 million total users, followed by MMA Pro Fighter with 407,040 new pugilists (up 25 percent) for 2 million total players. Zynga's Texas Hold'em Poker at #5 only grew by one percent this past week, but that slight increase constituted 327,991 new card players on top of its already large audience of 33.2 million users. Best known for its popular location-based iPhone/iPad game MyTown, Booyah is also seeing some success with Facebook game Nightclub City, which, at #6 on this week's chart, enjoyed 288,764 (four percent) more patrons, for a total of 8.1 million monthly active users. Wooga's Monster World, at #7, has 247,644 new users (up eight percent) and 3.3 million total users. It's trailed by Kabam's Kingdoms of Camelot with 191,947 new users (up three percent) and a 5.7 million user total, and WonderHill's Tattoo City with 175,397 new users (up seven percent) and a 2.7 million users total. LOLApps' Critter Island, a cute sim in which players design an island and manage its attractions, closes out the top ten with a 438 percent increase in its user count, bringing in 143,147 new players for a 175,825 user total.
