Despite selling a combined 466,273 units, Nintendo's Pokemon Diamond/Pearl for DS have been kept from off the top of the official Japanese game charts for a second week by low stock and a strong debut for Namco Bandai’s sequel to what is known in the West as Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi. Although the beat ‘em-up sequel performed well though, it was somewhat down from the 325,589 unit opening of the original. The second highest new entry of the week was also from Namco Bandai, with the company's second Gundam game for the PSP also proving a hit, although a less significant one than SD Gundam G Generation Portable, which was the first ever PSP number one in Japan, with 155,634 first week sales. Other movement in the top ten has been limited, with a relatively slow week for new releases and consequently for hardware sales. As usual, the Nintendo DS was the best selling console with 124,137 units sold, followed by the PlayStation 2 at 28,264. Despite the release of Gundam Battle Royale PSP sales slipped again to 21,050, ahead of the Game Boy Advance family of consoles at 2,817. The Xbox 360 though managed to maintain some of its momentum from the release of Dead Rising last week, with 2,101 unit sales.
