Fire Emblem DS Remake Leads Japanese Charts

New Mystery of the Emblem: Heroes of Light and Shadow, a remake of an entry in the Fire Emblem series, led Japanese charts with 136,000 units sold in its debut week ended July 18, Media Create said Thursday. The game, released July 15 and published by Nintendo, is a DS remake of the tactical RPG Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, which originally released in 1994 in Japan on Super Famicom (Super NES). Square Enix this week also had a strong debut with Dragon Quest Monsters Battle Road Victory, a card battle game for Wii. The game tied for first place in the weekly rankings with 136,000 units sold. Other new entries for the week -- six of the top 10 games were new -- include two versions of Konami's Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2010, the Capcom-published PSP RPG Last Ranker and Momotaro Electric Railway Tag Match. The previous week's number one game was Nintendo's Wii Party, which dropped to number four this week with 113,000 units sold. The party game sold 348,000 units through July 18. Games to fall out of the top 10 from last week include Namco Bandai's Taiko Drum Master DS: Dororon! Battle With the Ghouls!! for DS, Nintendo's Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Wii, Microsoft's Crackdown 2 for Xbox 360, Nintendo's Friend Collection for DS and Konami's Winning Eleven 2010: Aoki Samurai no Chousen for PS3 and PSP.
