Representatives from Bethesda Softworks and Rednote Audio announced that the soundtracks for Star Trek: Legacy, Star Trek: Tactical Assault, and Star Trek: Encounters will each be scored by veteran video game and film/TV composers Rod Abernethy and Jason Graves (Blazing Angels, The Hobbit). All three titles are scheduled to launch this fall. According to the companies, Abernethy and Graves have produced 60-minutes of “symphonic style” music for Star Trek: Legacy, a space combat game in development for the Xbox 360 and PC. As announced previously, the game will also feature the voice talents of all five actors who have portrayed captains in each of Paramount's Star Trek television series, including William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Scott Bakula, Avery Brooks, and Kate Mulgrew. In addition, Star Trek: Tactical Assault for the PSP and Nintendo DS is a real-time spaceship combat game for one or two players, while Star Trek: Encounters is an arcade-style action shooter for the PlayStation 2. As previously reported, both Star Trek: Legacy and Star Trek: Tactical Assault will feature scripts written by Star Trek writer Dorothy “D.C.” Fontana and her partner, Derek Chester. “Mad Doc was fortunate enough to recruit the musical talents of Rod Abernethy and Jason Graves to score a completely original soundtrack for Legacy,” commented Parker A. Davis, the produced for Star Trek: Legacy at Bethesda's Mad Doc Software development studio. “We’re crafting a game that marries the cinematic appeal of Star Trek and intensity of starship combat, and Rod and Jason captured that beautifully in their score.”
