Nintendo's Wii Party debuted at the top of the Japanese charts for the week ended July 11, Media Create said Thursday. The party game sold 235,000 units, with Sony Computer Entertainment's and Level 5's PlayStation 3 role-playing game White Knight Chronicles: Awakening of Light and Darkness coming in second with 176,000 units sold in its debut week. Nintendo revealed Wii Party to North American audiences in May this year, and the game maker highlighted the title at its E3 media briefing in June. The game, which utilizes players' Mii avatars in a variety of minigames, is due in the U.S. later this year. Other new releases that made the week's top 10 include Marvelous' Harvest Moon: Twin Villages for Nintendo DS with 64,000 sold, and Microsoft and Ruffian's Xbox 360 exclusive Crackdown 2, which sold 15,000 units. Last week's number one, Level 5's DS game Inazuma Eleven 3: World Challenge, dropped to number three. In just two weeks, the game has sold 603,000 units total in the region. Games to fall out of the top 10 from last week include Namco Bandai's DS game Digimon Story Lost Evolution, Konami's DS titles Love Plus + and Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side 3rd Story and Nintendo's DS game Art Academy. Below is Media Create's top 10 chart for the week ended July 11:
