2006 Games for Health Conference, Call For Submissions Announced

The Games for Health Project has announced that its third annual conference will take place on September 28 and 29 at the University of Maryland School of Medicine - the conference will feature healthcare professionals, researchers, and game developers who will meet and discuss the use of video games and related technologies in health and healthcare. The event is currently seeking content submissions, all of which must be submitted by Monday, June 19. The conference's agenda will be announced on July 1. Suggested topics for submissions include health-related training, disease management, health messaging using games, health imaging and hardware, and off-the-shelf consumer health & exergaming titles. The conference organizers are particularly interested in submissions concerning a number of specific topics, such as the use of game-based technologies for improving medical imaging and information, game-based simulations of health populations especially for simulating outbreaks and health policy decisions, and applications which improve training through the use of game-based approaches to simulation and learning, among others.
