The CMP Game Group, producers of the Game Developers Conference (GDC) (as well as Gamasutra.com), along with the ELSPA (The Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association) and TIGA (The Independent Games Developers Association) have jointly announced that registration is now open for the upcoming London Games Summit. Set to take place on October 4 and 5 at the BAFTA headquarters in Piccadilly, the event will offer two days of content from business leaders in the games industry and keynote speeches from UK government ministers. The content, to be programmed with CMP's help, will explore business issues, strategies and opportunities for maximizing the expanding game market across all platforms, and will draw industry executives and business managers from throughout Europe. The London Games Summit will play a part of the London Games Festival, a week-long series of events to be held in the capital beginning October 2. The week will also feature the CMP Game Group’s GDC London, a conference focused exclusively on advanced techniques in game development; the London Game Career Fair; the London Content, Outsourcing and Middleware Market, presented by TIGA; and BAFTA’s British Academy Video Games Awards. “The game industry is going through a series of transitions, regarding models of distribution and financing, emerging industry-broadening and next-generation development, as well as heightening political impact,” noted CMP Game Group Executive Director Jamil Moledina. “As leading publisher, developer, and game conference organizations, it was incumbent upon us to pool our resources and deliver an event that would present those leaders with articulate visions for succeeding through these transitions.” For more information concerning London Games Summit, including how to register, as well as speaking and sponsorship opportunities, interested parties can visit the official website for the Summit.
