Organizers of the recently announced 2007 Online Game Development Conference (OGDC) have announced a call for speakers for the event, as well as confirmed that registration for the conference will open on October 16, 2006. The inaugural event will be held from May 10-11, 2007 at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle. Even organizers Evergreen Events noted that abstracts can be submitted at the official OGDC website, and can cover a wide range of topics, including technology, design, and game content, as well as business and legal aspects of game development. While submissions are not restricted to these topics, organizers to note that preference will be given to talks in these areas. The conference is slated to offer a wealth of technical and creative information for the interactive game development community, and specific speakers are expected to be announced over the new few months. In addition, Evergreen Events also noted that the event has drawn two new sponsors. IT giant IBM is the Diamond Sponsor for OGDC, while BigWorld Technology, a provider of Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) platforms, is a Platinum Sponsor. "I believe that online games provide exiting growth opportunities for game developers" said John De Margheriti, CEO of BigWorld. "We are also pleased to be the Platinum Sponsor for the 2007 Online Game Development Conference and the 2007 Global Game Summit. They are two new conferences that will provide networking and learning opportunities for our industry."
