Evergreen Events, organizers of the 2007 Online Game Development Conference (OGDC), announced that its inaugural event will be held from May 10-11, 2007 at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle. The conference is slated to offer a wealth of technical and creative information for the interactive game development community, and specific speakers are expected to be announced over the new few months. Organizers note that the event is designed to offer a wide array of future-oriented answers to the challenges and opportunities facing online game developers - the maxim of the OGDC is “Connect Your Brain”. “The online gaming market, which includes MMO gaming, in-game item exchange, web-based online gaming services, game advertising, online console gaming, and digital distribution, is going to quadruple in size in the North American market, from $1.1 billion in 2005 to $4.4 billion by 2010,” commented Michael Cai, Director of Broadband & Gaming for Parks Associates. “It's imperative for game developers to have a handle on trends in the industry, as it explodes in size and diversity.” For more information on the event, including contact information, a list of sponsors, and registration details, interested parties can visit the official website.
