Event organizers Show Initiative, LLC, have announced Virtual Worlds Conference 2007, a two day event taking place March 28-29 in New York City aimed at showcasing the business and marketing opportunities made possible through the use of virtual online communities. The two day expo, scheduled for March 28-29 at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City, will feature panels and presentations covering branding, marketing and promotion applications within virtual worlds. In addition, the event will also cover several non-game applications such as social networking, education, e-commerce, employee collaboration, test-marketing, content generation, training, recruiting and new product development. While an official list of speakers for the event has not yet been released, the conference schedule already boasts a number of interesting topics. Specifically, a session simply titled “Platforms and Technologies” will examine the current and future alternatives for various platforms, and offer insight into the unique complexities that arise when dealing with virtual worlds. Another session, titled “A Virtual Worlds Road Map - where is it all going?”, will include expert testimony on the emerging demographic trends surrounding virtual worlds, highlighting what to expect from the coming year and beyond. "Virtual Worlds 2007 separates the buzz from successes, allowing attendees to hear from companies who've made the journey and learn from their experiences and activities," commented Christopher Sherman, Virtual Worlds Conference Executive Director. He added, "Virtual Worlds 2007 is a social networking paradise, bringing together for the first time all the knowledgeable experts in virtual worlds, giving attendees ample opportunity to learn the latest techniques and technologies and build relationships with peers and industry leaders."
