3Dlabs announced the establishment of the Permedia Developer Network (PDN), a developer-focused program providing extensive resources and support for game and application developers worldwide. As part of the PDN program, developers will have exclusive access to the Permedia Software Lab to test their titles at any stage of development, in order to ensure compatibility and functionality with the features included in 3Dlabs' Permedia 3 and future generations of Permedia products. Developers belonging to PDN are entitled to early access to Permedia 3 graphics cards, and subsequent releases as they become available. Dedicated technical contacts for both DirectX and OpenGL at 3Dlabs' locations in the United States and United Kingdom are available to PDN members designing games and productivity applications. Members of PDN also receive special access to Permedia online support where they can download white papers, utilities, profiling drivers, and sample source code. Permedia 3 is a 128-bit graphics processor that includes the Triple-Blend texture engine and Virtual Texture memory management. Permedia 3 supports resolutions up to 1900 x 1200 with up to 32MB of RAM and enhanced DVD playback with motion compensation. More information on the Permedia 3 and PDN is available at http://www.developer.3dlabs.com.
