The Game Audio Network Guild, or G.A.N.G., has formally announced the winners of its 3rd annual G.A.N.G. Awards, which were originally held at the 2005 Game Developers Conference. The awards honor all facets of game audio, from original score to sound effects to voice acting. The main Audio of the Year prize went to Halo 2's sound team, composed (no pun intended) of Marty O'Donnell, the audio director and composer, Jay Weinland, audio lead, C. Paul Johnson, sound designer; Mat Noguchi, audio programmer; and Michael Salvatori, composer and producer. The most awards went to Myst IV: Revelation, which won three awards for Best Live Performance Recording, Best Original Vocal Song (Choral), and Music of the Year. Other notable awards included the Lifetime Achievement Award for Michael Land, who worked on classic LucasArts adventure games like Grim Fandango, Sam and Max: Freelance Police, and Secret of Monkey Island. A full list of the winners is available at G.A.N.G.'s website.
